"Bacon, on My Floorboard" by Frances Scott

I am so done with traveling. 

We are worn out.  Our cars look like atom bombs hit them both; atom bombs full of hardened chicken nuggets, water bottles, toys, old clothes, and books that have somehow gotten… wet… and moldy. “What The What!?!” ((…she says, looking incredulously at the wet, moldy book she slipped on, while trying to get into the car for church last Sunday.))

“Ahhh. Smell that boys? That’s the smell of travel!” That’s what my daughter said, as she got back into our SUV after one particularly grueling trip this summer. We laughed, but it’s kind of disgusting, the way we live.  

Bacon.  There was BACON on my floorboard last week.  OK. I’m done. Check me out of here.   If bacon on your floorboard doesn’t tell you your life is now unmanageable, I don’t know what will.   We had several weekend road trips in mid-summer that were scheduled back to back, but we figured we could recover from those.  When all meals start with, "Ok: Wendy's Value Menu. What do you want: 5-piece nuggets, junior bacon cheeseburger or small chili: what do you want?" then you know you've been on the road too many weekends. 

Then, in August, my step-dad started declining (from Alzheimer’s), and more road-trips ensued. Then, we went back for the funeral, and then we had some early fall trips to see Skip's family that had been scheduled back in Spring… AAAAAHHHHHH!  I’m officially overwhelmed.  Oh yea: and my hip pain is out of control.  So yes, I might look "normal" while doing the news, but literally, I am here at work all day, and then when I get home, I run for the chaise lounge, bed, floor, kitchen counter, or anyplace I can get horizontal (and not the fun kind). 

The goal is to keep my pain at a low enough level that I don’t miss any work because of it.  And we’ve succeeded at doing that, but that means all chores are now Skip’s, and though I’ve hinted at wanting my car cleaned out, he’s simply been too busy with the grocery, laundry, dishes, more laundry and unpacking all the kids’ bags from travel.  He does as much as possible, but he can’t do it all, and so we are now BURIED in laundry, bills, and yard work (OK, so it’s just a front patio, but it’s all overgrown and unsightly. I get stressed about it, but who am I to judge; I now do NOTHING around the house!)

Our place is not big. It’s not hard to clean. But we’ve barely moved in. “A place for everything, and everything in its place” is a great motto, but we’re still figuring out where everything goes, and how to fit it all in!  Add to that, a bunch of half-unpacked suitcases that trip us as we’re rushing out to school, and it’s simply unworkable.  I haven’t seen my cellphone in 18 days, and there’s no hope of finding it, unless---

I break down and call for backup.  Actually, "backup" called me. “Do you need me to come and help you get organized?” Ahh… Hear that? That’s the sound of MARTHA!  The sweet, calming sound of Martha!  Martha (my mother) has come to help!  So here I am: “30-something-year-old, finished-college-and-grad-school-too” me, “Emmy-award-winning” me, “I’ve-held-down-a-job-for-99-percent-of-my-adult-life” me, “yes-I’m-married-to-another-supposedly-capable-adult” me.  But now “me” has resorted to having to ask her widowed, bad-kneed mother to come and rescue us from our filth and disorganization--- again. It’s humbling, but we do need help.  She’ll either help with entertaining the kids or help with the chores, but Martha… will HELP, God bless her soul!  

Fast forward 18 hours-- to today… and Martha has single-handedly washed about 18 loads of laundry, found my cellphone (in the car, between the passenger’s seat and the console), and encouraged my husband to clean out our cars. SHE IS A FREAKING MAGICIAN!  (Turns out that Skip had been afraid to leave me home alone with the kids long enough to clean out the cars. Every time he leaves the four of us alone, a melee ensues, and he comes back to have to clean up all the emotional wreckage too.)

So, as ashamed as I am for not being able to keep it together and for having to lean on my 50-something-year-old mother to help me, when I read Mommy blogs, like the one written by my friend Suzanne, I realize, the chaos, the heartache, the disorganization, the neediness, the feelings of anxiety because I can’t keep it all together—just like my mom said, are all completely NORMAL among parents, and, like Martha said, these inconveniences are just a teensy price to pay, in exchange for the four beautiful, wacky, messy, chaotic, unpredictable-but wonderful children that my husband and I have the privilege of raising.   And that makes an occasional strip of old bacon on my car's floorboard not seem so bad after all.

Przedmiotem zarzadzania ogólnego (ang. General Management) jest organizacja w charakterze agregat. Az do zadan zarzadzania ogólnego wypada kierowanie strategiczne, modelowanie struktur organizacyjnych oraz kierowanie zasobami ludzkimi i aktywami. Abstrahujac od tego w nowym paradygmacie zarzadzania kladzie sie wielki akcent na rzad oraz budowanie kultury korporacyjnej.
Przedmiotem zarzadzania funkcjonalnego sa zadania ewentualnie autonomicznych czesci organizacji, które nazywamy funkcjami. Wedlug jednej sposród definicji (H.
